Connect the Classroom

The government has recently announced a £45 million investment to improve digital connectivity in schools, including £25 million to upgrade wireless networks and £20 million to complete fibre upgrades.

The purpose of the programmes is to ensure that schools and colleges meet six core government digital standards by 2030.

How to apply for funding?

The Department for Education (DfE) plans to release more information about school eligibility in spring 2025. Schools that meet the criteria will be contacted directly by the DfE and will receive funding if their WiFi connectivity falls below the required standards.
