You may have seen the recent BBC report around the epidemic of e-cigarettes and disposable vape use in schools. This is causing serious health issues, some requiring hospitalisation, in children and young people.

Take a look at our on-demand webinar

Electranet (part of Capita plc) and Verkada hosted a joint webinar on 28th November, where we shared our innovative approach with a demo of the solution.

Why should I watch?

The use of e-cigarettes and disposable vapes by young people is causing serious health and safeguarding concerns in schools. It is believed that 1 in 5 teenagers have tried vaping - an increase of ⅓ over the past year, and they are doing it on school premises.

Wider debate, action and education on a national level is needed to prevent these vapes getting into children's hands but at least from a facilities or safeguarding perspective in schools, you can now take measures to reduce this on school premises with our partner Verkada’s range of environmental sensors and security cameras.

What we covered

We’ll show you how cutting-edge sensors, security cameras and visitor management systems from Verkada are helping educational leaders at schools monitor and respond to vaping incidents and bullying, improve safeguarding and streamline visitor screening.
