The more we embrace the opportunities technology presents, the better the outcomes for students and educators alike. At Capita, we can support your ambitions to put the long-term infrastructure in place that will help you take the lead as education innovators. And ultimately, help every young person to thrive through equal access.

Below you can explore the breadth of our work and knowledge on helping education authorities in Northern Ireland to get the most out of technology. Whether that's celebrating the best usage of tech in schools across Northern Ireland by hosting the ICT Excellence awards, or through our strategic partnership with BecomingX - a new learning and development organisation that helps people realise their true potential.

Rewarding and celebrating exciting ICT innovation

The ICT Excellence Awards, organised and sponsored by Capita, celebrate the innovative use of technology to improve educational outcomes in Northern Ireland.

After a one-year break brought on by lockdown, the 2021 edition of the awards took place in May 2022. The focus was on the incredible successes schools across NI produced in spite of difficult circumstances surrounding the pandemic.

Supporting Northern Ireland's educators with cutting-edge tech

Since 2012, Capita has been developing and improving the Education Network for Northern Ireland Schools (ENNI). This was the first education cloud solution in Europe, and has supported over 1,100 schools, more than 300,000 pupils and 50,000 teachers along the way.

As well as simplifying processes and lowering costs, ENNI has also improved security and allowed for more inter-operability between schools. All of which has improved overall results and enabled new possibilities.

Children today are learning what robots will be able to do much better in 2030. What education should be focusing on now is the curriculum needed, the skills they’re coming out with, about mental health, social media and automation.”
