Our partnership
Capita in partnership with the Education Policy Institute (EPI) is hosting series of three webinars, drawing on the insights from the EPI’s Effective Schools Group Tool.
Capita and EPI have partnered to address the most pressing challenges in the UK education sector through a series of webinars. The partnership aims to address and improve the issues in schools and multi-academy trusts (MATs), by leveraging data insights and strategic solutions.
The webinars explore topics including:
- Workforce sustainability in the modern school system
- How is technology being deployed in schools to support inclusion?
EPI’s data tool, supported by Capita, provides detailed metrics on the education sector and this helps MAT leaders identify trends and make informed decisions.
Previously hosted webinars - now available on-demand
Webinar 1: Workforce sustainability in the modern school system
What can you learn from the webinar?
Access to high-quality teaching is crucial for improving educational outcomes, especially for disadvantaged pupils, but while the government aims to recruit 6,500 new teachers, retaining existing staff is just as vital. Despite a temporary boost during the pandemic, teacher retention continues to decline due to issues like pay, workload, and work-life balance. Multi-academy trust leaders have identified recruitment as their biggest challenge, with data showing that MATs typically lose a third of their classroom teachers over three years. Addressing this crisis requires exploring solutions—and leveraging data more effectively could be key to improving recruitment and retention.
Webinar 2: How is technology being deployed in schools to support inclusion?
What can you learn from the webinar?
Supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) remains a major challenge in education, with a persistent attainment gap—22 months for those on SEN support and 40 months for pupils with an EHCP. EPI research highlights inconsistencies in identifying and meeting needs, driven by system fragmentation, service delays, and wider social factors. While government initiatives like the Partnerships for Inclusion of Neurodiversity in Schools aim to improve inclusivity and local provision, questions remain about what more can be done—and how data and technology can help create a more equitable system.
Webinar 3: How are schools responding to ever-tightening budgets and what do they need from policy?
What can you learn from the webinar?
In the third webinar of the series, this discussion covered how schools are navigating their finances during challenging times. The panel also explored how policy can better adapt to the diverse needs of schools.
